AUGUSTUS Magazine
is seeking artists to craft a visual story related to the root of creativity for its first issue that is going back to the easiest beginnings of visual storytelling: "Ancients"

Inspired by ancient forms, visual cues, symbolism and philosophy the first printed issue seeks to narrate "the tale of all tales", and therefore asks each artist to investigate and interpret their relationship with the ancients -- exploring how their own perspectives are linked and where their own root of creativity lies.

Ancient however isn't limited to the time-period in history but allows the artists to venture beyond and spin their own tales of "ancient times".

It is stripping back the layers and diving deep into experimentation, creativity and the root of visual culture.

AUGUSTUS is encouraging experimentation, creative curiosity and artful imagination.

Submitted work has to be original and exclusive.
Images have to be the minimum of 300 dpi (2550 × 3300 pixels) // Format: Portrait
Mixed Media is allowed.

Categories are: Fine Art, Fashion and Portraiture


Crediting is essential and has to be as elaborate as possible, crediting any member of the team that helped craft the images with their full name, as well as social-media handles where possible.

If applicable: Wardrobe credits are essential.

Upon submission you will be asked to provide a brief paragraph explaining your project.

Digital tear-sheets will be sent if the submission is accepted, however at this point no physical copies can be attributed to the artists.
