***What We Are Looking For:***

Please submit editorials with a cohesive theme for review. It's summer, which means it's time to start planning for Halloween. This is a special themed edition showcasing the best of the best of the spooky, creepy, horror, creative, fantastical, and mythological images. Nudity is allowed, but only if it flows into the concept of a creative set of photos. An emphasis will be placed on creativity and mood.

We usually provide tearsheets on the day of publication. We do not require exclusivity. You are welcome submit images that are already posted to your social media. Likewise, you can share your images or your tearsheets at any time.

Do not submit a collection of unrelated images. The pictures should be from the same shoot.

Do not submit images to multiple magazines and then cancel the submissions to other magazines. It is against the guidelines for submission set by Kavyar. We will not cancel accepted submissions because you submitted your images to multiple magazines.

We may not use all of the images from your submission. We love to create editorial spreads that photographers, models, and other team members are proud of by using as many full-page images as we can. When possible, we like to have the first page of a submission be a landscape image spread across two pages, although we will also use portrait-oriented images if it is appropriate. Keep in mind that images compositions with the model in the center of the image in a landscape image might have an issue with the crease of the magazine distorting the center of your image.

Ensure that you have received the proper permissions from the people in your submission to have their pictures printed in our magazine and displayed on social media. Do not submit pictures that you have submitted to other magazines.

We may change the submission titles at our discretion if the title is offensive or for other reasons as we deem necessary to maintain the brand of our magazine.

When crediting your team, please include first and last names. In the printed copy, we credit using names and not Instagram handles. We use Instagram handles only when posting to social media.

We recognize that some people might not want their real names listed and that is fine. You are welcome to use pseudonyms, first names only, or leave off the names.

Submissions may also be posted on our social media accounts where we will use Instagram tags. If you do not include names, the person will not be credited in the printed edition.

Do not include wardrobe credits from chain stores. We may not include all wardrobe credits in our publication. While we feel it is important to value all the team efforts that went into creating your pictures, having too much text on an image detracts from the flow of the editorial spread. For example, if in picture one, the shoes are from Target and the sunglasses are from Forever 21 and the watch is from Timex, and there are different items in each picture, listing all of those items would detract from the flow of the images and would not be included.

If the model did her own makeup and the photographer did the retouching and creative directing, you do not need to include those things in your credits and they might not be included because excessive text is visually distracting to the flow of the issue.

Any changes to the credits made after the submission deadline closes may not be included.

Credit corrections fee: $100
When you upload the credits, ensure that they are complete and accurate. If time permits, we will edit the credits prior to publication.

***Technical Image Information***

Images should be in portrait or landscape mode, either 8.5x11 at 300 dpi or 11x17 at 300 dpi. If you get a notice during the upload process that your image does not meet these requirements, please correct the image before uploading. Note, these are the minimum requirements. You are welcome to submit images in a larger format. If you upload images that do not meet the formatting requirements, we may not publish them even if they have been accepted.

Do not resize images by putting a border around them or creating a larger canvas size in Photoshop.

Do not submit a color and a black and white version of your photos. We will not print both and if you have uploaded the minimum number of photos by including duplicate versions of your pictures, the submission might be canceled.

Do not submit any work with watermarks. Watermarked images will be rejected. If you submit an image with a watermark, we will either crop or edited it out.

Some images might be cropped to fit at the editor's discretion. Images that are uploaded that do not meet the image size requirements will be cropped and might not include the original composition or the set might be canceled.

If you'd like to use the option to submit an image for the cover, cover images should be in portrait orientation with room at the top and on the sides for text.

Cancellation fee: $100. If a series has been accepted for publication and the issue has been completed, we will charge a $100 fee to remove the series as this creates considerable work in reformatting the issue. We do not guarantee that we will be able to withdraw the series prior to publication. If the final printed version has been uploaded and available for purchase, the cancellation fee is $150.

Rejection reasons:
*Images contain watermarks
*The work is not suitable for the flow of the issue
*There is no room left for placement
*The quality of the work is not high enough
*The images are not properly retouched
