New York, NY
As a native of Louisville, KY, I began training & performing in high school - classical voice - with occasional appearances on the musical theatre scene. It was my life, until I realized there was more to discover. During my junior year, I left the University of Kentucky, majoring in vocal performance/opera, to sort through mental and emotional challenges, and to dissect an unshakeable performance block; I felt that I couldn't be my true self on stage due to societal expectations surrounding masculinity.
What is my true self, you ask? A tall, black, beautiful & flambouyant energy that unleashes amidst liberation. After my time in college, I then debuted at The Royal Danish Opera & The Lyric Opera of Chicago. From there, I decided to make the big move to NYC, booked a manager and bobbed through audition rooms, attempting to avoid the pressures of fulfilling the hyper masculine image. I eventually booked a show which led to 3 1/2 years of cruising around the world with Norwegian Cruise Line.
Traveling the world broadened my cultural perspective which peaked my interest in fashion. I soon embarked on the journey of discovering my personal style; gender fluidity, sass, 90's Parisian fashion, rebellion & sophistication became the grounds of my fashion.
I immediately established my direct connection to fashion; to externalize what I experience and feel internally, which creates an authentic and digestible experience for viewers. Through the inspiration of culture, liberation and authenticity, I fully transitioned into the world of styling & creative directing in 2020. Thanks to the fashion fairies, my work can be found in The New York Times, Moevir Magazine, GMARO Magazine & Fashion Week Brooklyn.
