Guidelines
- We are looking for beautiful fashion, and beauty editorials.
- Please take a look at our past issues, to gain an understanding of the type of stories we like to tell.
- All submitted images must be final, retouched images. We like to be able to choose from 2-3 images of each look.
- Fashion Editorials should have, at minimum, six different looks and showcase multiple brands and designers - at least four. Styled lookbook shoots (all clothing from the same brand/designer) will not be accepted. If the entire shoot is all vintage and stylist owned wardrobe clothing, the project will not be accepted.
- Beauty shoots should have a minimum of 5 different makeup or hairstyle changes.
- We will not consider previously published work.
- We will not publish images with watermarks.
- Team credits are essential for all submissions. Please be sure to double-check that all persons involved in the submission are included in the credits and their names are spelled correctly, along with the social media handles. If for any reason editorial is published with missing or incorrect credits - this is the submitter's responsibility.
- Clothing credits are essential for all submissions. Please include the description of item, and item brand name.
- We prefer to receive submissions from the photographer, however, if you are not the photographer we will need a release from the photographer/copyright holder.
- Payment will not be refunded if you decide to cancel, or not publish, after submission is accepted.
ADDITIONAL POLICIES
- Once an image is accepted to be published, it grants us the permission to use your work in any of our publications, websites, videos, marketing pieces, advertisements, and any other mediums or formats used in the creation, dissemination, and monetization of PATTERN Magazine.
- Once a submission is accepted by PATTERN Magazine, it must not be published in any other magazine, website, blog and Social Media networks. Once we realize that the images are published in these mediums before the particular issue has been released, we reserve the right to pull that submission from our issue without your consent.
- Cancellations: It takes a great deal of work and effort to compile an issue. Any time we have to pull a submission from a magazine it creates challenges for our team and sucks up valuable time. For this reason we charge a $20 cancellation fee. So we ask that you be sure that you want to submit with us before sending your work in to be published.
- Each accepted submission receives one print copy of the magazine, as well as digital tearsheets AFTER the magazine is published. Once you are notified of acceptance, it will be the submitter's responsibility to send us a mailing address for the copy of the magazine to be mailed to. The magazine is oversized, 11x14 inches, so keep that in mind. We will not be able to send replacement copies of the issue, if your copy does not arrive. Copies can be purchased on our website as well.
