Guidelines
Vertiqlè Magazine does not accept submissions through Kavyar.
We are now accepting BLACK & WHITE fashion, street, conceptual & art nude* portraiture submissions for the May 2020 issue.

We're looking for incredible B&W content, from creative teams around the world, that speaks to people in one of four ways:

- its artistic beauty,
- its technical brilliance,
- its embedded social message, or
- simply because it pushes a boundary.

We love the world of black and white, and are inspired by the likes of the great B&W fashion and portrait photographers of the 60's through early 2000's - think Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, David Bailey, Herb Ritts.

Creating great B&W images is a little more complex than applying a grey scale filter across a colour image. We can accept colour images, and we will work with the photographer / production team to create a B&W version that maintains their artistic vision. Please select the "Colour Conversion" submission option to submit non-B&W images.

THE DOT POINTS:

Be sure to include a title for your editorial. We reserve the right to modify your title or apply a different title to fit with the flow of the issue. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE WORDS QUARANTINE, ISOLATION OR LOCKDOWN... IT'S NO LONGER ORIGINAL :)

We're happy to accept related written content to a max. 500 words, though we reserve the right to exclude or modify your written content.

We need credits for the whole team, including models (& their agencies), stylists, HMUA's, photographers, assistants, etc. Credits should generally be in the name of the individual talent, not business names or social media handles (we will tag your social media posts with the Instagram credits provided to Kavyar)

Images should not have been published through any other form of print or online media. We'll consider previously published images - just let us know that it has been published elsewhere, when it was published, who it was published with and that any exclusivity has expired.

*Any nudity MUST NOT be gratuitous. See specifications re: nudity at www.vertiqlemagazine.com/submissions

CHANGES, DISQUALIFICATIONS & CANCELLATIONS
We use the data YOU provide in your submission and profile, including names, agencies, social media handles, locations, etc. We copy it exactly as it is displayed. If it is incorrect in the your submission or profile, then it will be incorrect in your editorial. We have limited capacity to make any corrections after the submission \has been accepted.

Having accepted a submission and downloading the files from Kavyar, we frequently find image files are not to the required specification (either incorrectly sized or too low resolution) Where this is the case we will disqualify the submission and it will not be published. We will advise you of the problem, and we MAY offer you the opportunity to resubmit, but we are under no obligation to do so.

Cancellations and requests not to proceed with publishing an accepted submission will be considered on a case by case basis. Since considerable effort goes into producing each issue, requests to cancel a submission after acceptance are generally not granted.

REJECTIONS
Submissions may be rejected for a variety of reasons, including:

- Work was submitted after the deadline.
- The quality of the images aren’t of a high enough standard.
- The submission doesn’t fit the theme for the issue.

If your submission is rejected, we will advise you so that you can submit elsewhere, but we may not state the reason for the rejection.
