My name is Simone Williams aka DJ Sakir aka Sim Simma aka … I’m a creative who loves filling my days discovering the “new new”: things, ideas, places and people. I’m an NYC photographer who shoots portraits, events and street photography. Creating has always been a part of my life. Spending endless hours alone as a child, I developed the muscle that allowed me to make things with my hands and see the world in full color. Fast forward to the last semester of my senior year in college I fell in love with developing film and watching images come alive in the dark room. Since then I’ve wanted to make sure that my pictures represent the world I live in; one of creativity, intersectionality and inclusion. When I’m not obsessing over my last shoot or bingeing on youtube tutorials, I’m digging for the best tunes to spin (yeah, I DJ too!). I’m always on the lookout for inspiration as I stalk the streets of NYC meeting new people and capturing moments. You wanna get on this ride with me?
